The Adoption Process
Every Dog Counts Rescue has many dogs for adoption in the Indianapolis and surrounding area. Please look at our listed dogs on Petfinder.com. Anyone interested in adopting one of our wonderful dogs should complete an EDCR adoption application. Once we receive your application, you will be contacted by an EDCR Adoption Coordinator if there are any additional questions, and to arrange a home visit. Out of respect for our volunteer fosters and their homes, we will bring the dog to you.
During the home visit, we will bring the dog you are interested in adopting for you to meet. It is important for all family members and individuals living in your dwelling to be present for the home visit. We also take this opportunity to introduce your existing pets to the dog you are interested in adopting.
All adoptable dogs will be up to date on their vaccinations, be spayed or neutered and micro-chipped. If the adoption is approved, the Every Dog Counts Rescue Adoption Coordinator will provide you all vet records for you to bring to your vet's office.
